Retirement Sale Gives Opportunity to the Habitat Home Center

Retirement Sale Gives Opportunity to the Habitat Home Center

by: Sarah Inez Arredondo

In 1987, Frank Dansby started Dansby & Wilson Enterprises. Two years later Mr. Dansby would buy out the Wilsons’ and change the company name to D&W Distributors.  D&W Distributors, Inc. was a local Tool Wholesaler in Garden Ridge, TX. serving all 50 unions and 20 Countries.

With the sale of the building nearing, the conversation to donate the inventory to Habitat began.  With an already 15 year business relationship with Habitat’s EVP; Don Griffith, it was an easy decision to make.

Mr. Griffith has been a loyal customer of Mr. Dansby; purchasing various tools over the years for Habitat’s construction build site.

With the approximately $1.5 million in inventory being donated, Mr. Dansby will be directly impacting the San Antonio and Guadalupe Valley communities.

Customers will be able to purchase drill bits to grinding tools and more in each of our retail stores well below cost.  The proceeds made in our stores will help fund Habitat’s home building program for years to come.

Now after 34 years in business, Mr. Dansby can enjoy retirement with his wife and continue relaxing with some fishing and hunting.

Habitat truly appreciates Mr. Dansby’s partnership and wishes him a relaxing and fun-filled retirement.

Check out some of the inventory on our Facebook page or schedule a donation of merchandise at habitatsa.org.
