Celebrating 50 Years of Building
2026 is an extra special year. We are proudly celebrating our 50th anniversary – a milestone made possible by the dedication and generosity of all our supporters.
For five decades, we have worked alongside hardworking families to build safe, affordable homes across San Antonio (and more recently Guadalupe Valley). As we reflect on our journey, we are deeply grateful to those who continue to do what Faith Lytle started at her kitchen table in 1976.
We have some fun plans throughout the year. We’ll be hosting special 50th anniversary house dedications and sharing stories from our past. This spring we’re building our 1,500th house – proudly sponsored by Bill Miller B-B-Q – to be dedicated on April 11th. In July we’ll be building a house in 50 hours. You heard it – we’re starting on July 16th and will finish construction midday on July 18th. We’re grateful that this house will be funded by Methodist Healthcare Ministries. Stay tuned for all the ways that you can be a part of our 50th anniversary festivities. Together, we will honor our past, celebrate the present, and continue building toward an even brighter future – right here in San Antonio, where it all began 50 years ago.
